>>1750878My bike has never been taken care of in its life as well as I take care of it. Ebike conversions give new life to older bikes. I make sure that I can always de-convert it though, no permanent mods to the frame.
I did the pivot bearings, bb, chain, hub bearings, fork service and countless/constant tweaking to perfect this thing. God bless Marzocchi, their forks are the only ones that last forever if you service them. 2004 Rocky Mountain Switch with a Marzocchi Super T Pro. 1x6 with a 30T on the front and a Shimano Hyperglide 14-28 6-speed freewheel on the back. SRAM PC-971 chain and a RD-M786 Shadow+ 10-speed XT derailleur shifted by a vintage Suntour friction thumb shifter. Went with a 6-speed in the back because I needed the extra couple mm to slip into the dropouts without wrestling the thing.
I made two 1/4” steel torque arms to protect/reinforce the factory dropouts and support the 1500W hub motor. 7”/6” travel front/rear, on Schwalbe 2.4” Super Moto-X. KT 18-MOSFET controller, set at 1000W at the moment because 13S4P 12Ah battery can’t push the full 45A (25A BMS).
If you love bikes and electronics then ebike conversions are like combining your two favourite hobbies.
