Mostly they use these offset ones which require a zig-zag to get around. Even when locked they still rotate a bit so the clearance can vary. During the winter they are left open to make it easier to plow.
Some of them can require a double zig zag due to the angle of approach caused by weird curb ramp placement. A few spots have 2 curb ramps either side of a road corner rather than one at the corner.
