And ignoring the exaggerated cases of hyper-curvy women or hyper-T-shaped men, most people who aren't accustomed to seeing shaved legs in lycra can't instinctively clock if it's a male or a female from that angle, until they see the face. And since they associate that style of pants with women, it jams up the heuristics and they get confused and seethe when they see it's a dude.
