As a literally licenced, spandex wearing, elitist asshole, the answer is no. The roadie assholes will see you as they would a road cone, and they would see your bike as not an actual bicycle. Any astute riders will see more about your riding form, your fit, your pedaling technique than the price tag, and that's to determine whether you need extra clearance as a road hazard. I expect your technique to also be terrible, but hey, you have to start somewhere.
