well you also need to setup them up well which can be hard.
but yeah. i think these brakes (deore? xt? mid 90s shimano) with kool stops are truely excellent. Powerful and great feel/modulation. Better actually than the cx70s i have on my cx bike.

I made a few threads about restoring it last year
well i've ridden it a fair bit now and i just like it so much. It's not a clunky utility bike it's extremely fast and fun on gravel trails.

I've got a modern 853 CX bike and this is better.
