I rode a 20 in mountain bike and if i was lucky i could make around 70 dollars working all day.
I just never could see how this could be really profitable unless you live in a super densely packed place, where you can pick up the food and ride 3 or 4 minutes to deliver it on every order. I have done these deliveries in a few different cities in borgerland, including san francisco, and even when I am hauling ass at prime time I barely make like 12 bucks an hour. when it's all averaged out i only get around 10 dollars an hour. I feel like the appeal of "freelance" work and being able to just do it anytime is so strong, that people really overlook the fact that the pay is awful and the job is not all that great unless you just really like riding your bike. And, at least here in these god forsaken cities, something like 10% of the customers complain that their order was wrong or something is missing, only to find out every time that actually the customer just placed the order wrong and I wasted like 20 minutes going back to whatever restaurant and waiting around for the employees who are all stoned to come speak barely intelligible english to me. And half the restaurants take 30 minutes just to get you a coffee or one sandwich, not because it's busy but because the employees just don't care. So you waste all your time and the customer leaves a bad review. Maybe it's a lot better in europe
