Honestly I like almost all disciplines of cycling so I would prefer to have multiple.
If I had to pinpoint a bike it would probably be a hardtail mountain bike with an extra fork and extra set of wheels.
So I could have a bike that does dirt well, and does road okay.
Something like this but with a 2x up front for the road, maybe a 29/43.
2x is dead on mountain bikes but everytime I am on the road(which is every ride to the destination) I appreciate it.
A bike like this I could do road rides even without a ridgid fork since most forks have lockouts now. 29 wheels so faster on road and xc. Durable enough for harder trails+jumps.
Currently I have 2 hardtails, one that I use on the road since it's got 3x8 and is old. Other I hit the trails with 180mm travel fork(lmao) and heavy tires.
