Never in my life have I been someone who was fanatically against cars or suburbs but today I realized something. I'm kind of a neet and this stemmed from the belief that evolved when I was a kid. The idea that "there's nowhere to go, everywhere is the same and it's boring". I realized that this is because there really is nowhere to go in the suburbs when you're a kid. There's literally nothing to do in walking distance and hardly any better in biking distance. All I had to look forward to was car dealerships, massive big box stores and shitty fast food surrounded by 6 lane roads that nobody likes crossing. There was never "that one spot under the bridge by the lake" or "that cool alley that connects to a little dirt trail that leads to a park". What an awful place to grow up. Picrel
