my winter bike is the same as my summer bike because it only rains about 50 days out of the year (and not very much, at that), and the last time it snowed was about 60 or 70 years ago.
i've upgraded everything well past my own needs, and (importantly) to the point where i'm no longer lusting after the next thing. i'm marginally annoyed that my frame and fork don't support disc brakes, but given the lack of rainfall in my area it just seems like indulgent to think seriously about upgrading either to open the door to disc brakes.
i'll wait until my frame and/or fork fail and need to be replaced, but given that this is aluminum (which generally last quite a while) and pretty well-made (to my admittedly non-expert eyes), i figure it'll be a great deal of time before that happens.
