The current system employed uses off the shelf cars on smooth flat roads. Those cars are easily maintainable, and each of them have independent powers. Each costs only $40K in new or few hundreds per month in lease. Each can drive anywhere. Each can do point to point. Each can be resold back. The current system delivers the capacity of a light rail system for 1/10th the cost.
If you have better suggestions on improving any of the core metrics like passengers per hour, cost per mile, easy maintenance, high degrees of freedom via point 2 point, etc. You're free to do so, but atleast put the braincells to work
