I've also done maybe, a little less than a dozen 80 mile rides with my road bike, out and back. Being considerably older than when I built pic related, they take me about 5 hours, excluding a 20 to 30 minute break at midpoint.
My roadbike is a custom built Ciocc with entry level campy.
