It's hard to describe the problem... it lacks detail?... lacks atmosphere? Yeah it has Japanese buildings and rolling stock, but it doesn't feel like it takes place in Japan. It feels like a bunch of Japanese stuff was put in Washington state and they called it done. It just looks bland to me.
