I had a similar situation where a women sitting at a bar patio yelled "Hey sexy!" at me while I was approaching a red light. I was distracted, turned my head, realized I was going too fast and did an emergency stop with both feet unclipped and on the road. The light immediately turned green and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get myself clipped. I eventually got my right foot in near the end of the light's cycle and limped it with my left leg flailing all over the place to a street leading me the opposite direction of where I was going so that I could head home. I didn't ride again for months and gained a lot of weight. I still actively avoid riding past that bar.
