I just assume no driver has seen me until I either make direct eye contact or they slowed down considerably for me.

Besides, I think cyclists going on the right side should be more of a guideline than a hard rule. Cycling on the right sidewalk/bike lane after some traffic lights when you wanna go left a bit later makes no sense. Might as well drive the few metres on the left side a bit more careful and slower.
