2. olive oil aint cheap - i cook with it and it expires per application , parafin wax is practicly free and lasts repeated dippings in the pot
3. oil still blacks up and messes up my jeans during a commute - wax is perfectly clean
4. wax lasts just as long as oil. it doesnt all flake off
