If you don't even know what style of bike you want you're clearly a noob, so should just get something basic. Get a Sora-level road bike if you ride on pavement, Sora-level gravel bike if you want to ride on tame trails too. Anything more 'rugged' than that and you'll want a mtb, which won't be fast on pavement. Unless it's all you can afford, don't buy a hybrid, and under no circumstances ever buy a fat bike or ebike. Beyond that, just choose based on what's on sale or has the coolest paint job.
