$$ real tape is better and feels better.
Same with grips. The $1 aliexpress silicon grips are acceptable but real ESI or Redmonkey silicon ones, look identital, for 10 times as much money, feel a LOT nicer.
Fresh chinkshit grips/tape are better than not changing it for poorfags or to raise your margin on flips, but real and nice bartape or grips is one of the things thats absolutely most worth spending money on.
