>>2000063>You can't ride the bike the way they display it because if your legs were that long you'd need a different frame>You were probably riding a bike where the horizontal distance between the bars and the saddle (the reach) was too much for youI think this was what was happening for sure. I'm pretty tall at 6'1" but my legs are almost freakishly long, my torso isn't actually that big, and my arms are more normally proportioned. Basically I'm the slenderman, which might explain why I felt so uncomfortable on bikes that fit my leg length but didn't fit my arm reach. I'll probably talk to the store guy about it. I'm kinda stuck between medium and large. Medium feels good on my arms but my legs are clearly cramped, large is kinda inverse.
>>2000076>>2000082Okay I get it. So tires are what really make the bike? I was just browsing on my local classifieds and some guy is selling a Gazelle Dutch bike for 100 dollars. It looks used and dirty but I already sent him a message. If he'll sell it to me within a few days then I'll get it. I figure getting it serviced to start with shouldn't cost more than a hundred and if what you guys are saying is true then maybe I'll replace the tires and it will ride like a dream?
>>2000092I'm not going to pretend that I didn't initially gravitate toward the bike because it looked different from every other bike in the store, but it did win me over with the fact that I can stand over it and there is nothing threatening my berries. It seems to be well designed, and I understand there must be compromise but it can't be that significant over one peice of metal bar? Like they clearly reinforced the bottom bar with triangle welds.
