The worst crash in the area of current Czechia happened in 1960 on a line between Pardubice and Hradec Králové. Crowded commuter train of diesel motor unit ran on red light and crashed in full speed into another passenger train steam locomotive. The crash and fire killed 118.
Picture is one of the recent crashes in Czechia. Pendolino train on the line to Prague crashed in full speed into the truck loaded with steel plates which got stuck on the railroad crossing. The truck driver ran on the red light and when the gates closed then instead of running through them he rather stayed on the tracks. 3 people were killed
