Purple line is being built, should've been heavy rail, but will be good regardless. WMATA is debating doing something similar to the orange line proposal, but perhaps with the blue line. Cyan line starts building a better-connected network in NoVA where there is a lot of room for ridership expansion, plus it connects some neighborhoods in DC that are a bit disconnected right now, such as Ivy City, American University, east H Street NE, and lot of downtown Anacostia.
The pink line is an absolute pipe dream but would be the capstone for the NoVA portion of the metro, connecting the Route 7 corridor. The cut up to Bethesda was just fucking around, no real reason to send it through fucking McLean.
