Good caliper breaks are very good, breaking will be superb. On top of that, you will have access to cheap wheels since everyone is moving to disc.
I'm all for disc breaks, but they just aren't that significant of a change for road to warrant all the hype. Like, you aren't going to be missing out on anything really.
If it was a MTB, that would be a different story.
