i've had a concussion from getting clipped by an overtaking car (a hit-and-run). The hospital trip wasn't fun and soon after i noticed a very evident drop in IQ. my college grades dropped, my wit and verbal acuity tanked and I started to act more like a dullard sperg to the sadness of my friends and family, and now-ex gf. My fine motor control became clumsier, I'm more irritable/ experience emotional disregulation and my eyes defocus sometimes.
after reading lots of residual brain damage studies and freak insta-deaths from concussion victims I don't fancy my odds that repeating that experience will turn out well.
Wish I'd worn a helmet that day.
