>>1586058yeah but that was because slaveowners would have kids with their slaves intermittently, and sometimes those children would ascend to higher society, but rarely. seems more often that these offspring went on to have kids with other slaves, and stayed slaves, and even if not, there were slaves who were only 1/8 black before the civil war (which was used in northern propaganda to show the humanity of slaves). So while most african-americans do have european admixture, it is not true that most european-americans have african admixture, or else America would look more like Cuba, Brazil, etc. of course.
