I want a basic bitch mountain bike. I have an old Giant I was thinking of fixing up/upgrading but the more I look the more it seems like it's gonna be a $400 project and I'm afraid that's gonna be lipstick on a pig.
REI just started a sale today and they've got their house bikes 15% off. I was looking at the DRT 1.1 and 1.2, the 1.2 seems like a much nicer bike but it's almost twice the price, and I'm kind of wondering if it'd make more sense to get the cheap one and then upgrade to something really nice in a year or two, rather than getting a "meh" midrange bike. What do you guys think?
