has there been an official announcement or just the bikeforums thread? but sram s300 is fine at least for singlespeed use. honestly much of the fixie scene is reddit hipster cringe and the use of track cranksets is mainly just for the bling/fashion statement. sram omnium is pretty old, maybe they will make an updated version of it (sram s300 is recycled from an older crankset iirc). or you might get more street cred if you have rare sought after omniums on your bike. there are other track cranksets as well, the beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
