>>1107931You need to use the bike like a lever with the fulcrum being the bottom bracket, so instead of just yanking up on the bars (what it sounds like you are doing) you need to push down with your feet on the pedals while pulling up and backwards. The distance between your bars and your BB is much longer than your chainstay, you get a large leverage advantage, which is why it's easier to bunnyhop on a BMX. Once the bike is accelerating upwards you just get out of it's way and let it come up towards you. It's much easier to learn to hop up things than just doing in on flatground. Find a dirt embankment to hop up on to where it won't matter if you case.
