However at a certain boat size the sails of a bermuda sloop become so large they can't be handled by a single person anymore, and eventually even two persons. If I had all the money in the world I'd get a bermuda staysail rigged equal mast schooner with cockpit winches custom built though, just for the manageable size of each sail and the redundancy of parts. You could lose either mast at sea and rig the other one as a bermuda sloop to get to the next port, even reusing parts and sails of the broken mast. The redundancy is a thing of beauty.
