Pic related would've been a big help for today's Hamburg
What happened:
>No funding due to financial crisis
>also gradually replaced the entire expansive streetcar network with buses.
>Buses between Osdorfer Born and Altona (routes 2 and 3) are usually overcrowded despite 18 buses per hour all day long between Ebertallee and Altona
>Routes 4 and 5 combine for 30 buses per hour near the university during rush hour, still hopelessly overcrowded
>Route 6 heavily crowded despite 18 buses per hour during rush hour
>The streets along Route 22 are so prone to traffic congestion that delays of 20 minutes and more are a normality during rush hour
>Bus routes 23, 213, 160 and 260 combine for up to 27 buses in the rush hour peak direction (from the metro station AM, towards the metro station PM), still usually heavily crowded and very prone to traffic congestion
>Route 7 (as well as Routes 26, 118, 177 and 277, not included in the drawing) have to connect two densely populated neighborhoods with metro stations
>Route 7 will be the only route to be replaced/relieved by a new metro line within the next 10 years
