>finish integrated atpl in January of last year>on top of the world, hyped about my first job>start searching while waiting for my license >weird Chinese flu around>probably nothing >fast forward to now>under 5 hours of flight time since the beginning of 2021>going through uprt, fun but feels useless >my theoretical knowledge is fading >feels bad about my flight career >decide to be proactive and go to uni >still feels like shit.>fuckAny other fresh cpl feels like this?
I feel defeated and rusty as shit almost like I wasted a ton of money.
Flying is my dream job but looking at things logically I understand that I’ll probably have to wait two or three years before I have a chance to find a job but subconsciously there’s always that lingering disappointment.
I have a couple of questions for other European pilots as well.
For any line pilot, do airlines care about simulator time or they care only about actual flight time?
I have around 190 h of flight time and 73 h on a certified simulator, if I can sum them I’m in a decent position otherwise I’m fucked and need to do some serious hour building.
Any of you wear your wings outside of work?
My parents gifted me a pair of actual golden wings for my license graduation but I never see other pilots wear them outside of work, I’m afraid to ask my instructor because I think that I’ll come across as a sperg.
