With LONG TRAVEL Independent suspension, the tires don't do the work, the suspension does. Here, the truck is fully drooped. Droop is important for MTB as you go over crests, to keep tires on the ground.
THis truck has ~30" of front travel and ~36" rear, its meant for blistering speeds across relatively flat desert. Whereas a rock crawler is going super slow over crazy rough mountain terrain.
For FAST, you need suspension to be tuned to your terrain. For slow, on slippery muddy or rocky or sandy terrain, you need as much tire contact patch as possible, with the right tread for as much traction as possbile
