But if you had one bike, a road bike with capacity for 38's or 32's even is a lot more flexible than one that's stuck to 28's. Faster than a mtb on asphalt, faster than a road bike on trail. No it's not as good as either in their respective domains, but you cant very well ride two bikes at once can you?
And man I ride around on 38's on a steel fork on single track sometimes and shit is fun. I know a lot of doofuses on this board who take their CX bikes on trails regularly. Not cuz it's good, but b cause you can and it's fun
