I'm looking for a pannier rack for my road bike, to compliment my rear one and not have all the weight on the back. So far this style seems to be the most adequate (as opposed to a pizza rack style one), however I'm worried about the clamping system, the bottom part fixes to the fork rack mount (which my fork has) but the top part clamps around the fork blade with a little rubber-covered metal hook that tightens on the other side with a couple of nuts. Since my fork blades are carbon, I feel putting clamping pressure around the middle part of them is not a great idea. Is this something I should be worrying about? Are there other front racks that fix to the front brake instead? I don't want something hanging from my handlebars either.
TL;DR: clamping rack around carbon blade fork y/n
Also any front rack experience and information welcome.
