the material from this plastic folder (which i had bought for making a DIY ass saver) was just the right thickness for shimming the lever blade

the shim didn't have to be all that thick because the part that stops the lever is close to the pivot point
i put a piece of kapton tape on the other lever as well
an added benefit is that it silences the lever action and protects the carbon lever blade from damage
