My beater is an old huffy roadside cruiser. I use it to get to work, get groceries, and I even took it mountain biking once. After years of neglect I recently did a major overhaul on it. Replaced the entire bottom bracket assembly and installed a new one piece crank, pedals, and chain. New rims with a beefy sturmy archer s1c coaster brake installed. Replaced the split leather on the seat. Cleaned/polished most of the bike and then coated it with a microcrystalline wax and protecta clear on some bare metal areas and most of the hardware. Debating whether or not to redo the paint or just apply wax every now and again as I kind of like the worn/rusty look.
