Perhaps don’t do it on a complex STAR or a busy approach, but there are times when the operational threat is low and the opportunity presents itself. I never said I was “gods gift to aviation”, nor am I trying to showing off. I’m pointing out that airline pilots don’t actually fly very much and it would be beneficial if they did. Why are you so offended?
