How difficult/worth it is it to replace non-aero brake levers? Just picked up an old bike off craigslist and everything is in working order, except the bar tape and hoods need replacing. I don't have much (any) bike repair experience, but was wondering if I'm going to be swapping those out if I should swap the levers too. If I swap the levers am I going to need new cables too? The person I bought it from said they'd swapped the cables in the last 6 months. Also, what's the proper way to run bar end shifter cables through the bar tape? The way they have it set up now, it comes out from the tape just under the hoods which makes holding them somewhat uncomfortable.
