>>1028942With the exception of not extending the trolley to the airport, the trolley in SD has been done right. They're currently building an extension to La Jolla and UCSD, in which we see is becoming denser. It will also mitigate traffic along the 5 freeway from Genesee Ave. They will also build a rail line through Mira Mesa to reach the 15 freeway but who knows when that will actually be done.
I really don't want to see San Diego become like Orange County, which is just widening freeways without addressing the root cause of increasing traffic. Relying on buses, which old people and millennials do not want to ride in Southern California, will not work. The bus takes too long to get anywhere and it shows up late often. There must be rail lines to destinations and urban centers, such as Honda Center/Angel Stadium, Disneyland, the universities, and an extension to Los Angeles that is available every 15 minutes, unlike Metrolink and Amtrak.
