In (continental) Europe they warn that an unmarked intersection (no stripes, signals or anything) is up ahead. At unmarked intersections any car coming from your RIGHT has the right to enter the intersection before you.

It simply means "intersection with equal roads".

Not every intersection is marked with these because all intesections are equal by default. The problem arises from that equalness is only indicated by precense or lack of back side of yield sign on the intersecting traffic, something that's quite hard to spot from a moving vehicle. The authorities drop these to places where peoples' intuition is consistently wrong and prangs happen.

There is one right around my corner and it means "dangerous crossing" due to lack of clear sight, on an even intersection wich means you yield to drivers from the right
