Is there anywhere I could live where riding a horse is a feasible main form of transportation.

It really just depends what compromises you're willing to accept to achieve this.

In really it's probably achievable in the countryside just about anywhere, as long as you don't have to go on any very busy roads to get to the shops etc. Ideally it would be somewhere where it's common for people to ride horses, so drivers would be more aware. Obviously there are going to be some inconveniences in comparison to having a car or living in a city. There are huge parts of the world where many people don't own cars, they just make do with whatever means of transport they can find.

I live on 30 acres about 1/2 way between Seattle and Portland (US). I have, on more than one occasion, ridden my horse down to the post office or to the store.

There are a lot of places this is doable. The show stopper is municipalities that will go after you for dropping turds and fine or arrest you for littering.

The cart corrals in parking lots make great horse pens.

In Calgary Alberta, if released from prison, it is required that you are given a handgun with bullets and a horse, so you can ride out of town. It's in the city bylaws .

When you look at it objectively, horses are actually a really shitty mode of transport.
They are incredibly expensive to maintain and pretty fragile compared to an automobile, bicycle or motorbike.
They really don't travel any faster than a person on foot over long distances. Yes, they can run fast for a short period of time, but if you're travelling cross country, your horse will wear out very quickly if you're going faster than walking speed.
People used horses as mounts or beasts of burden only because there were no other options and as soon as those options were available, horses were abandoned.
