Some people, including myself, preferred Gen 1 over the other designs, but saw room for improvement. We wanted it to say 'boats' instead of 'buses'. We wanted our board color, blue, to be included. We wanted the rear sprocket logo to be placed higher (either Voler or the anon who led that order fucked up and put the logo way too low on some styles/sizes). We wanted international shipping available (since non-US anons couldn't order Gen 1 jerseys directly from Voler). This would come to be called Gen 1.1.
We came up with some similar designs fitting these criteria, and once we had one decided upon, I went to Podiumwear's real-life office and talked to them in person and toured their facility. Satisfied with the company and the quality of their jerseys, I gave them our mockup and vector objects, and they opened a webstore for us.
With that order a success, and some demand for Yotsuba jerseys (some wanting a re-release of the older Yotsuba jerseys, others wanting a full-color Yotsuba jersey release), I decided to organize an order for Yotsuba jerseys as well. I got back in touch with Podiumwear, and again provided a mockup and vectors. It went pretty much the same as Gen 1.1, but faster and easier because I had worked with Podiumwear before.
And that's where we are right now. I believe Gen 1.1 and Yotsuba jerseys are still available, but as always, not everyone is satisfied with these designs. Some people still want re-releases of older jerseys, or want something new entirely, so I assume we'll see more orders in the future.
