I have been interested in single speed bikes for a while. I have experience with many varieties of BMX and cruiser bikes but not any fixies/track bikes or SS mountain bikes. My opinions about single speed change depending on the riding conditions and the maintenance needed to keep my bikes running well. I ride a geared mountain bike, folding bike, and road bike. What are your opinions on single speed bikes? What about coaster brakes vs. rim brakes vs. disc brakes vs. fixie skidding? Fixed gear vs. freewheel/coaster? What kind of handlebars?
