I'm a bike messenger, after thousands of deliveries I got too comfy this morning and let the bike unattached in a very secured Paris district (Pantheon/Sorbonne). Left the bike alone for 1 minute and someone stole it. Nobody I spoke to saw anything.

Worst thing is that a policeman on a motorbike saw me coming, and was litterally 10 meters away from the bike. When I let my bike alone I was like, no fucking way someone is going to take it. I was stupid. All those days without getting robbed made me feel too confident

How much you make is mainly dependant on three factors : 1st. flow of orders. 2nd. distance. 3rd stamina/power. If I lock the two first in good conditions, I can achieve 4-5 orders per hour, sometimes peaking to 6. Pay is fixed, 5€75 per order + tips.
On avg my friends are making between 2,5 and 3 per hour. I've also very fit friends that do the same as me.

how much per order? think you got a typo right there.
also, i would use 1.5" wide slicks. i also used to ride fat slicks as in pic, changed to 1.5" (kenda kwest, cause cheap). and they are awesome, and feel safe , yay!

heh, I did the same thing once by going food shopping to a major supermarket on a dual sus mountain bike and locking it up with a shitty thin cable lock because I couldn't find my usual lock.

Shit dude, that's me just checked my bike hasn't been stolen from my work.
I had this happen to me once and the police told me straight up "you can put in a report but we won't be looking for it and you most likely won't see it again so time to cut your losses".
I hope it turns up, with your job you might see it around and be able to get it back.
