Most of the routes did not allow the turbos to do what they were designed to do. Too many crossings, slow speeds, ETC. For example the turbos between Detroit and Toledo consumed 55 gals of turbo oil, that is 1 gal per mile. The crews found them a little scary being at eye level with vehicles at the crossings always had them worried. I miss em. :-(
