>>1095821>safeFor various values of the word 'safe'. Highly predicated on the DRIVER and his SKILL (or lack thereof)
>not bound by rails Bounded, usually, by roads, traffic, traffic controls, speed limits, COPS, and so on.. but yeah sure
>shelters occupants from elementsokay
>requires little specialized trainingSee above, "skill of the driver". There are people who should NOT BE ALLOWED to drive.
TBQH most people should get way more driver ed and driver training than they get away with.
>affordable to anyone with a job LOL, no. Someone working in fast food can't afford a car, insurance, maintenance, etc.
That's why we have 'alternate transportation'
>you arrive at your destination not smelling like a wet dog like with a bicycle If it's just 'transportation', sure. But we ride bikes for other reasons. Like not being a FATASS.
Are you a fatass? Fix that shit.
>suitable for both short and long trips.*shrug* if you're so lazy that you can't walk a mile and back to the store for a few things, then you need to be over in
>>>/fit/, and not
>>>/o/. I'd recommend you get a bike for short trips. Then you won't be fat.
FWIW I have a pickup truck, motorcycle, and two bikes. Wouldn't give up any of them.
If ALL you have is a car, then I feel sorry for you, you're missing out.
