Made the mistake of covering my mouth while running to the toilet to puke once. Vomited apple pie up into my sinuses. That burned a lot and I was blowing chunks of apple out of my nose for the next hour.

No, my body is not bitch-made. Though, I must admit, I've cycled to the point where my legs have numbed out and I couldn't walk for like a few hours. I've also sprinted to the point where my empty stomach burns and aches.

Bullshit. Spewing has nothing to do with being a "hardened" rider. Going hard whilst not giving your body sufficient time (4-6 hr.) to digest food will undoubtedly end in you puking whatever you ate. Its physiology, bitch. HTFU!

Nope. Not even when doing 90-second intervals as hard as I possibly could (lactate tolerance reps). If you're smart you don't eat big heavy meals just before going out to ride, then you don't have to worry about puking.

Yes, I was bike touring in Japan and underestimated a mountain. I started feeling shitty and pulled off into a park/vending machine area to get some sugar, next thing I knew I was laying in the parking lot with a happy doggo eating puke an inch from my face.

I've never cycled hard enough to vomit but in the Army I definitely ran hard enough to vomit when trying to beat my peers in a PT test. It has nothing to do with what you ate or when, it's just pushing yourself harder than you thought you could.

That's as close as I've ever come to vomiting on a ride. I've felt uncomfortable after 40/20s intervals but I don't eat super heavy before doing them. And that's also why I now stick to oatmeal or eggs before my rides depending on training goals for the day.

Nah. I have eaten an entire pizza before doing a 1/2 crit and being in the winning break, too. You'll only vom vom if you aren't accustomed to the effort yet. For example, doing 30/30s in March after 3 mo. of base miles.

I definitely felt the urge on my last long ride. I normally never go further than my 10mi commute, and did 60 miles one day. I think it was the huge amount of sudden cardio that did it; every time I took too deep of a breath I almost hucked.

I've done it during canoe marathons, which are like bike racing with your fucking arms, do not want.
Been smashed up on a bike a few times, agonising cramps, bad hunger knocks that left me on the floor once I'd got back home. Never ended up crawling in the gutter begging strangers for food though, could have been worse.

Never actually vommed but definitely had a few occasions where I've had to sit on the verge for a while feeling very sorry for myself.

Usually don't push that hard because I'm not interested in racing/KoMs but I often do weekend rides with some buds who all work at a cycling-related company. They're pretty chill but all way above my fitness level and I often push myself too hard trying to keep up...

Christ. I've done it once while cycling, on a solo ride where my IT band took a shit about 35 miles out from home, on what wound up being the hottest day of the year. Turns out that chugging Gatorade and water when I'm already dehydrated and experiencing mild heatstroke results in firehose pressure vomming. Why the fuck I continued on with this miserable sport after that day, I dunno.

Worst I've gone through was just when I finished a hard ride. Got pretty intense tunnel vision, head was swimming and felt super heavy. Felt my pulse drop super low too, like sub-30 or so it felt like.
Took a good while of laying down in the grass to recover.

Talking to a medic friend after he said it was glucose debt or something.

Yes. Went to a BMX track with my dad when I was 12. My dad also attempted a backflip on his 90s Giant mountain bike and broke his shoulder. It was a terrible day but I had a lot of fun regardless. Unfortunately our city tore down the BMX track. Now all the BMXers ride freestyle at the skate park.

I saw this thread yesterday and thought "what the hell? that sounds really stupid."

This morning I rode my new used single speed commuter bike (last one was stolen). The idiot had a ridiculous gear ratio setup on it. So you basically had to have quads of steel to go anywhere.

It was about 85-90°F outside and when I'm about 100 yards or so away from work I start dry heaving. Sure as shit I threw up the second I got to the dumpster.
