>>1109963I have 2015 GT Grade Claris.
We both have the same frame as the more expensive models, they just have better components and full carbon fork with through axle (maybe yours has too, but I have alu steerer and QR).
>BB and cranksSo yes, the frame is 100% compatible with the high end cranks and bottom brackets. However that will be the last thing I upgrade. I have no issue with the square taper FSA cranks, I just swapped the chainrings to my liking. I really can't notice any "flex" or anything with them.
>tiresGP4000 and Ultra sport have pretty much the same rolling resistance. GP4000 would be better in everything else, but it won't be much faster. Ultra sports are pretty much the least puncture resistant tire you can buy so the GP4000 are a big upgrade in that sense.
>wheelsI think the wheels are actually pretty good, tubeless too. Unless you are a weight weenie I wouldn't change them.
>cliplessi recommend getting SPD pedals with the platform on the other side if you are not sure about clipless. I have been really happy with that solution.
Have you ridden hydraulic brakes? How do the Spyres compare? I'm wondering if I should buy the Spyres, or save up for a hydraulic group in the future.
