I'm scared to try cycling in LA myself. Even just fucking walking the streets, I'm almost run over by asian/woman drivers (the stereotypes are REAL) that never looks the other way. I pretty much have to make eye contact before crossing the street, that's how bad it is.

I still want to try it, though. I used to cycle around the city with my dad when I was a kid, and I still remember enjoying that. As soon as I get save up some cash I'm gonna buy me something cheap, still not sure what.

cycling on roads can be a bit shit without the proper infrastructure, so keep an eye out for bike paths or roads without much traffic and get a decent route together. Watching where other cyclists seem to always go is a good way of working out where it's fine to ride.
