Bombardier Transportation is already restructuring and laying off people in Europe, it will be very hard for them to survive against such a big player.

It'll be interesting to see what happens to the smaller, independent companies (CAF, Pesa, Stadler).

That merger isn't really one, on paper it looks like one but effectively siemens will just absorb alstom just like what happened when general electric and alcatel were sold off.

as a rail fan this blob will be monstruous, as a french guy im sad our industry is being sold off that easily. even more when we have a competitive edge in the sector. (coradia for exemple)
