I'm not sure I fully understand the appeal of electric bikes. I skated before I got into mtb, so I just want something I can hop on and go. dont wanna worry about charging batteries, or about hauling extra weight when they die. maybe a test ride would change my mind. what sold you on the e-bike meme OP?

i needed something i could travel 10-20 miles into town with and get my happy endings or travel to work without having to buy a car since i cant afford a car atm. so my main options were bike riding. i bought a bike and riding 10 miles to and 10 miles back from a destination on bike just wasnt happening. id be too damn sweaty walking into my favorite AMP or resteraunt.

with that in mind i actually remembered that electric bikes exist, so i looked into them and realized they were alot cheaper than i thought they would be. first looked at the Super 73, then the sonders, and finally settled on the radrover for 1499. it also gave free shipping so it was a no brainer for me.

long story short, i can basically just cruise my way into town without having to put any effort or sweat into riding and dont have to worry about my dick being too sweaty while its being sucked.

Happy endings are $40-$120 once or twice a month. cars are $5k+ on top of insurance, $5k being if i absolutely wanted to half ass it and get a shit wagon.

I think you did alright.

The E-bike part of the spec is reasonable for the price. The bike part of the deal is not spectacular but also not the worst.

As a relatively inexpensive e-bike, it is also less of a loss if it gets stolen.

I think you picked a reasonable set of compromises and did not fuck yourself as badly as you easily could have.

what is there to fully understand, some people commute 30+ kms, don't want to drive a car, don't want to take the bus, some people don't want to be sweaty when they get to uni or their job

however, if you're buying very cheap batteries and chargers from china, things are a bit risky
there have been several cases of those electric 2 wheeled platform things lighting on fire while charging
there were also the samsung phones that would randomly burst into flames from overheating

Its still a bike guy, you can easily set the PAS(pedal assist) to a 0 or 1 and still get plenty of exercise. you dont have to use the motor at all unless you are traveling long distances if exercising is on your mind. even so, you can just go to a gym. there are plenty of exercise routines you can do other than riding a bike mr retard.

i gave it a try last night after it arrived. its actually really good for what i need. my main issue right now is theft. im probally the only one in my suburban city/area that owns an electric bike, let alone a fat electric bike. so it will draw attention. i also live next to a ghetto middle school and a ghetto highschool so kids will prob try to take it if its not very secure.

oh, and i guess ill have to get into the helmet memes...
