I started cycling and ride on a flat bar where I alternate between the relaxed position and very relaxed position.
The ONLY thing stopping me from going more than 30 miles on a trip is right at the edge of that distance or if I'm going for more than 3 hours, the tips of my fingers and hands begin to hurt.
Sometimes in a weaker finger like the pinky it will be numb for a day afterwards...
Otherwise I have no lingering soreness or problems. Do I need to think about a diffferent riding position or bar? It's already padded and I do have gloves but the problem is the finger tips still get numb and it feels like I could cause nerve damage.
Just wondering if this is a normal part of riding or how it can be avoided.
Thanks.
